The minute Cary felt someone shaking her that morning, she tried to kick them wanting more sleep. But it didn't work, the shaking just got worse followed by a voice. "Carina, mami get up." it was the voice of her older sister Alamea, or just Mea as she liked to call her. "No Mea, let me sleep." That's when it hit her that her sister was there. After a moment or two to register it she shot up in her bed, still a little sleepy but with a grin on her face. "Mea, what are you doing here?" Cary asked pulling her blanket up around her, she had always hated people seeing her in pajamas.
Her sister laughed and said "Well buenos dias to you too." Smiling at her little sister. "Buenos dias Alamea." Cary hugged Alamea from the side and took out the braid she had in her hair. Mea hugged Cary back then let go quickly "As for what I'm doing here, I have to go to work early...so does mama. You think you could take the twins to the daycare for me?" Cary nodded while yawning, it would be no problem taking her two little nieces, she loved both Krystal and Idalia more than anyone would possibly know. "Gracias Cary, I'll pay you back, te lo prometo." But cary couldn't let her do that. This was exactly what family was good for. They were supposed to have each others backs. "Chica no, you don't have to pay me back. I love the girls and you're my sister." For Cary it was as simple as that and if Alamea was to try and pay her back for it, Carina wouldn't even let her.
Hugging Carina one last time, Alamea took off out of the room to let her little sister get ready for the day. Once her door closed Cary got out of bed and started to get changed into her outfit for the day. It wasn't really her but she liked it, right down from the tube to the pink sneakers she had decided to pair with it. That really wasn't her but it wasn't as if she actually cared. For her hair Cary simply straightened it and left it like that down. Now she was ready for the day and could be happy about how she looked. Walking into the kitchen she saw Krystal and Idalia both watching Dora The Explorer on Nickelodeon. At the fridge she grabbed a spoon and yogurt, that would be all she ate until she got the girls to where they were going. Putting both in her backpack she turned the TV off using the remote that was on the counter. "Okay mi bebecitas, time to go." Cary's accent coming out more than it usually did. Both girls started saying no over and over again so what Cary did was pick them both up one at a time and one in each arm. "A ver, where should I dump you?" She asked both of them walking out the front door and closing it with her foot. In order to lock it she put both twins down and did just that.
They caught the next bus to the daycare area, the whole ride both girls were climbing on and off her lap, sitting on random peoples laps and pulling her hair. Enough was enough. "Idalia, Krystal. Venga Ahora." Cary used her sternest voice without yelling, shocked both twins wobbled over to her, mock innocent looks on their faces. Once they were there Carina pointed to the spot next to her. "Sientense Ya." She said and both girls did it after almost a minute or so. It was too early to deal with that side of them and to tell the truth, Cary was still a little bit sleepy. "Tía Carina. you mad at us?" Krystal asked making Carina shake her head. "No mami, I'm not." That's when Idalia got in "Why you use mad voice with us?" Carina considered her answer. "I used my mad voice because, you two were being naughty." Well, she could have said 'Because you two were being little pains in the asses' but that would have been just flat out mean.
The bus came to a stop at their spot, Cary grabbed both of the girls up in her arms, one and each in arm. As she walked up the isle she heard several "Beautiful girls" or comments directed at her like "Are they your daughters?" Carina always rolled her eyes at those, every where she took the girls with her, it was always the same thing over and over again. God, she was only fourteen years old and never really did anything, well she did once and it was a night that she regretted even until that day. The minute they were off of the bus the daycare doors opened and in walked Cary with her two little nieces.
